Sevier-Vuyk’s artwork challenges the stereotypes that influence our perception of beauty and appearance. Drawing on childhood memories and nostalgia, she explores the contradictions in society's ideas of desirability. Using a minimalist and representational style, she infuses each object with a sense of iconography, amplifying its meaning to the individual and society. By exposing the tension between appearance and substance, her intention is to encourage viewers to question their own preconceived notions and find new perspectives on the world around us.
